Product Overview
Recombinant human BSG, fused to hIgG-His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Description
BSG, also known as basigin isoform 2, is a type 1 transmembrane protein with various different N- and Oglycosylation that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. As members of the immunoglobulin superfamily play fundamental roles in intercellular recognition involved in various immunologic phenomena, differentiation, and development, it is thought also to play a role in intercellular recognition. This protein has many ligands, including the cyclophilin (CyP) proteins Cyp-A and CyP-B and certain integrins and regulates several distinct functions, such as spermatogenesis, expression of the mono-carboxylate transporter and the responsiveness of lymphocytes. Also, it induces the production and release of matrix metalloproteinases in the surrounding mesenchymal cells and tumor cells, and thereby promotes invasion, metastasis, growth and survival of malignant cells.
