Description
This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, which resides in the juxta-telomeric region of the major histocompatability class 1 locus and is clustered with the other family members on chromosome 6. The encoded protein may be involved in the adaptive immune response. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Bio-activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. When Sheep Anti-Human BTN3A1/2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody is immobilized at 1.0 μg/mL, 100 μL/well, the concentration of Biotinylated Recombinant Human BTN3A2 His-tag Avi-tag that produces 50% of the optimal binding response is approximately 15-75 ng/mL. Measured by its ability to enhance anti-CD3-induced IFN-gamma secretion of mouse CD3+ T cells. The ED50 for this effect is 1.5-9.0 μg/mL.
