Product Overview
Recombinant human FCAR, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Description
FCAR, also known as immunoglobulin alpha Fc receptor isoform, is a member of the multichain immune recognition receptor family which is the most abundant immunoglobulin in mucosal areas but is only the second most common antibody isotype in serum. It plays a role in both pro- and anti-inflammatory responses depending on the state of IgA bound. It is also an important Fc receptor for neutrophil killing of tumor cells. When FCAR expressing neutrophils come into contact with IgA-opsonized tumor cells, the neutrophils not only perform antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity, but also release the cytokines TNF-alpha and IL-1beta which cause increased neutrophil migration to the site.
