Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the CD28 and CTLA-4 cell-surface receptor family. It forms homodimers and plays an important role in cell-cell signaling, immune responses, and regulation of cell proliferation.
Bio-activity
Measured by its ability to inhibit human T cell proliferation induced by rhB7-H2/Fc Chimera in the presence of anti-CD3. Wang, S. et al. (2000) Blood 96:2808. The ED50 for this effect is 1-4 μg/mL in the presence of 3 μg/mL Recombinant Human B7-H2 Fc Chimera and at least 20 ng/mL of anti-CD3. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application.
