Product Overview
Recombinant human RAET1L, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Description
RAET1L, also known as retinoic acid early transcript 1L, linked to the cell membrane by the GPI anchor. This protein functions as a stress-induced ligand for NKG2D receptor. Its expression is, for example, triggered in course of HCMV infection, but HCMV alters its function. HCMV-encoded UL16 glycoprotein retains RAET1L/ULBP6 inside the cells, preventing it from reaching the cell surface and being exposed to cells of the immune system. It had a more restricted expression profile in cell lines and primary human tissues than other NKG2D ligands. RAET1L mRNA shows restricted expression in the trachea and some HPV positive cervical carcinoma and colorectal carcinoma cell lines.
