Description
Transforming growth factors (TGFs) are biologically active polypeptides that reversibly confer the transformed phenotype on cultured cells. TGF-alpha shows about 40% sequence homology with epidermal growth factor (EGF) and competes with EGF for binding to the EGF receptor, stimulating its phosphorylation and producing a mitogenic response.
Storage
Stored at -20 to -80 centigrade for 12 month. After reconstitution with sterile water at 0.1 mg/mL, store at -20 to -80 centigrade for 3 months, store at 4 centigrade for 1 month. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
