Description
Enables several functions, including phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase binding activity; protein tyrosine kinase activity; and ubiquitin protein ligase binding activity. Involved in several processes, including common myeloid progenitor cell proliferation; hemopoiesis; and lymphocyte proliferation. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including dendritic cell homeostasis; hematopoietic or lymphoid organ development; and regulation of cytokine production. Located in external side of plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; dorsal aorta; immune system; reproductive system; and spinal cord. Used to study acute myeloid leukemia and juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in acute lymphoblastic leukemia; acute myeloid leukemia; colorectal adenocarcinoma; hepatocellular carcinoma; and prostate cancer. Orthologous to human FLT3 (fms related receptor tyrosine kinase 3).
