Product Overview
Recombinant mouse IL-1 alpha, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
Description
IL-1 alpha/IL-1F1, also known as interleukin-1 alpha, is a member of the interleukin-1 cytokine family. Cytokines are protein signaling compounds that are the main mediators of the immune response. This protein is produced mainly by activated macrophages, as well as neutrophils, epithelial cells, and endothelial cells. It possesses metabolic, physiological, haematopoietic activities, and plays one of the central roles in the regulation of the immune responses. It binds to the interleukin-1 receptor. It is on the pathway that activates tumor necrosis factor-alpha. Also, it stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B cell maturation and proliferation.
